Traditionally, getting a crown involved multiple visits to the dentist, including taking impressions, sending them to a lab, and waiting for the lab to produce the crown. With CEREC technology, dentists can now use computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) to create a precise digital model of the patient’s tooth. The machine then mills a ceramic crown right in the dental office, which can be fitted and secured within hours. This not only saves time but also increases the comfort and satisfaction of patients, as they avoid the need for temporary crowns and multiple dental visits. Additionally, the high-quality ceramic material used in CEREC crowns is both durable and aesthetically pleasing, closely mimicking the appearance of natural teeth.
